yen·ta n. Slang A person who meddles in the business of others.
Don’t say it like it’s a bad thing. Yenta is known as a matchmaker, and she wants you to find you the right man (a contractor) and have a happy life together (for the 6 months it’ll take to renovate your kitchen). Yenta tells it like it is, because hey, you should know the truth before you get into this mess. Sure, Yenta may gossip, but boy, she’s got the goods, and she’ll never steer you wrong. She means well, and she wants to help, so . . . so what if she’s a little blunt?
Look, you’ve got a renovation to do, you need help, am I right? So dig in already.
